Arthritis is long-term chronic pain and currently has no cure. It is an inflammation of the joints and can affect just one or multiple joints. This can cause the cartilage to break down and therefore not allow the joint to work properly. Rheumatoid arthritis, on the other hand, affects the lining of the joints and is an auto-immune disorder. Both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can cause severe pain for the person and affect the ability to move and grip.
